A last go at the lyrics Garrison Keillor - what a very clever guy- has written for two of our numbers. We have those two, one of our own, and one more which we're excited to do as we recently recorded it but haven't yet released it! We will release it after the show for download!!!!
On the other hand, he ( GK) apparently assembles more material than is needed for the two hour show, and edits as he goes along, so who knows what will actually make it onto the air. Tune in and see!

You will see this face again over the next few weeks - it will say here I am in Europe in subzero temperatures and it's time to eat!

January: Prairie Home Companion

We're brushing up Orlando for Paris, Amsterdam and Luxembourg, preparing some material for our sing-along with members of the Viennese public in the Konzerthaus a week from Monday evening ( the day before our concert in the Musikverein), and looking at a new piece by Steven Sametz. Hard to imagine that a a week from Friday night we'll be at the beautiful Oratoire du Louvre singing Orlando di Lasso for Concerts Parisiens!!! Meanwhile - T minus 3 days from Prairie Home Companion we're still in excited anticipation of what Garrison Keillor will come up with for us! Tune in Saturday at 6pm and hear!!!

January: Prairie Home Companion

We came back from our respective Christmas holidays thinking that our only task was to prepare for our big European tour which starts next week. But no- Garrison Keillor and the Prairie Home Companion are in town, and we're invited to appear on the show this Saturday! We haven't done that since l987, so that's a pretty exciting way to start the new year. The show is live in the San Francisco Opera House at 3pm - broadcast live on the East Coast at 6pm, and delayed until 6pm on the West Coast (KQED in the Bay Area.). The other musical guests are Elvin Bishop ( Chicago Blues) and Jean Redpath (Scottish folksinger.)We're still awaiting instructions about repertoire - When Matt met Garrison Keillor at the show last Saturday - he said "we're going to make you do things you never did before -we're going to push you off a cliff..." Perhaps he was kidding, perhaps not. Hard to tell. In any case it will be out of the ordinary. Tune in and see!!
