It was pouring down rain in Dublin at concert time. The Pipeworks people ( our presenters) were wondering whether the rain and the lengthy Wimbledon final might discourage the walk up traffic at the box office. This worry turned out to be unfounded.
Meanwhile the IRISH TIMES had given us a nice review for the Galway concert:

We arrive at St. Mary's Pro Cathedral in the heart of Dublin..
Our performance was taped for broadcast by RTE Lyric FM which has been playing our music a lot, it seems. We heard many audience members say that they've been hearing it and wanted to check it out live.

Can I pay tribute to all the guys in Chanticleer for an amazing musical experience in both Dublin and Wexford.
ReplyDeleteI have been a fan of the group for a number of years and it was such a privilege to be present at the concert in the Pro-Cathedral in Dublin where the accoustics were perfect for voices. Chanticleer made heavenly music there.
The experience was so overwhelming that I travelled to Wexford for the concert two days later. The Opera House offered a totally different accoustic and the choir were again amazing - in a different way.
The 'Meet and Greet' with the choir was a perfect way to end a wonderful evening in the Opera House.
With all good wishes to the group for continued success with all their music making. I look forward to their next visit to Dublin.
Maureen Nightingale.
