Mr. Keillor's version of Shenandoah was all about Alameda - across the Bay Bridge- where Flicka lives and where he spent a summer a few years ago. All the guest artists had San Francisco connections - Elvin Bishop lives here and Scottish folk singer Jean Redpath was once an usher in the very opera house where we were singing.
